Edmonton Capitals News Release
Yuma, AZ - The Edmonton Capitals suffered another setback on their season opening road trip through Arizona. The Yuma Scorpions exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning en route to an 11 - 7 win over the Capitals. The game was actually tied 3 - 3 after three innings and the Caps were in good shape. The game was blown wide open when Edmonton committed a couple of errors followed by a timely triple from the Scorpions Timothy Rodriguez.
Edmonton mounted a comeback in the later stages of the game. Cliff Brumbaugh picked up a couple of RBI with a bases loaded single in the sixth and then Tim Battle hit a triple with runners on the corners in the eighth inning to make the score respectable but the visitors could not completely recover.
Edmonton's record slips to 2 - 5 while Yuma improves to 4 - 3. The Capitals will have a day off to get ready for their next series in St. George against the RoadRunners.
The Edmonton Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment.
