The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have recalled goaltender Alex Auld from the Manitoba Moose.
Auld, 23, has appeared in 40 games this season with 18 wins and 16 losses to go along with 4 ties with the Manitoba Moose.
He has a goals -against average thus far of 2.55 and a save percentage of .915. His four shutouts this season is a franchise record, tied with Alfie Michaud (2001-02).
This will be the fourth recall to the Canucks this season for Auld. He was previously recalled to Vancouver on December 10, February 14, and March 19. He has played in six games with this season, sporting a 2-2-2 record with a 2.06 goals -against average and .933 save percentage.
The Cold Lake, AB native has played in 14 career NHL games, recording six wins and five losses with a goals -against average of 1.82 and a save percentage of .935.
He was acquired by Vancouver in a trade with Florida on May 31, 2001 in exchange for a second and third round draft pick. He was the Panthers' second choice, 40th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
