Canucks re-assign Jaffray & McIver to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have re-assigned left winger Jason Jaffray and defenceman Nathan McIver to Manitoba.

Jaffray, 26, has appeared in 13 games this season with the Canucks. After being recalled by Vancouver for the first time Dec. 11/07, the Olds, AB native scored his first career NHL goal (game-winner) and first NHL assist in his very first NHL game at Anaheim Dec. 12/07. In 14 games with Vancouver, Jaffray tallied two goals and three assists for five points and 17 penalty minutes. In 24 games with the Moose this year, he is currently third in scoring on the Moose with 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points.

McIver, 23, has appeared in three games with the Canucks this season following his recall on Jan. 11/08. In 29 games with the Moose, the Summerside, PEI native scored two goals and two assists for four points and 72 penalty minutes. He scored the game-winning goal Nov. 10/07 vs. Milwaukee and then scored the overtime winner Dec. 22/07 vs. Hamilton. McIver was originally Vancouver's eighth round draft choice, 254th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
