Canucks Re-Assign Brad Moran to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, have announced they have re-assigned forward Brad Moran to the Moose.

Moran, 27, appeared in his first games in the National Hockey League since 2004 when he was with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In two games with Vancouver since being recalled on Feb. 9/07, Moran the Abbotsford, B.C. native collected an assist and two penalty minutes. In his first season with the Moose, Moran is the team's second-leading scorer with 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in just 45 games. He was recently selected to the 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Game in Toronto. Moran is sixth in the AHL in scoring and is sixth in the league in assists. He also holds the mark for the longest points streak on the team this season at seven games (Dec. 5-Dec. 16/06) and is 14th in the AHL in powerplay assists with 14.

Moran had previously appeared in five NHL games in his seven-year pro career, all with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In his career, he has collected a goal and two assists, along with four penalty minutes. In 379 career AHL games with Syracuse and Manitoba, Moran has 114 goals and 179 assists for 293 points and 253 penalty minutes.

Moran was originally selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round, 191st overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
