Vancouver Canucks President, Hockey Operations Trevor Linden announced today that the Canucks have signed defenseman Anton Cederholm.
Cederholm, 19, spent the 2013-14 season with the Portland Winterhawks (WHL), collecting 16 points (4-12-16) and 95 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games. He added five points (2-3-5) and 16 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games, helping Portland advance to the WHL Championship.
The Helsingborg, Sweden native has represented his country on multiple occasions, including the IIHF World Junior U18 Tournament (2011-12 and 2012-13) and U17 Tournament (2010-11 and 2011-12).
The 6'2", 204-pound defenseman was originally drafted by Vancouver 145th overall in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
