Canucks assign three players to Moose

Today the Vancouver Canucks announced that they have reduced their training camp roster to 34 players. The players assigned back to the Manitoba Moose were goaltender Alex Auld, defenceman Tomas Mojzis and forward Brandon Reid.

The 6'4 netminder played in 21 games with Manitoba this season and posted a record of 11-9-0 (one shutout) and a 3.53 Avg. with a Save Pct. of .881. Last season, the Thunder Bay, ON native had also seen action in six games with Columbia Inferno of the ECHL and recorded a 3-1-2 mark with a 1.92 Avg. and Save Pct. of .927. Auld made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks and his NHL record is 1-0-0 with a 2.00 Avg. and .909 Save Pct.

Reid, 21, was a member of the Moose during the 2001-02 campaign. In his rookie season, he pocketed 18 goals (three on the power play, one shorthanded) with 19 helpers for 37 points. Reid was tied for sixth spot in team scoring and added a +2 rating with six penalty minutes. In the 2002 AHL Playoffs, the speedy forward notched three assists in seven matches.

Mojzis, 20, played in 64 games for Seattle of the WHL last season recording 10 goals and 26 assists with 109 penalty minutes. He was acquired by the Canucks in the off-season in exchange for right winger Brad Leeb on September 4, 2002.
