Cleveland Charge News Release

The third seeded Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell on the road to the second seeded Sioux Falls Skyforce, 100-89, at the Sanford Pentagon on Monday night. The series is now tied 1-1, with the third and series-deciding game taking place in Sioux Falls tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. on ESPNU.

Down 33 points with 4:50 remaining in the third, the visiting Charge showed resiliency to close the quarter. Fueled by three three-pointers from Kevin Olekaibe, Canton ended the third on a 19-8 run to take the deficit down to 82-60. The Charge hit 11-of-19 shots (58%) in the third after going 9-of-43 as a unit in the first half (21%).

Canton went with a singular lineup of Justin Johnson, Olekaibe, Chris Crawford, Maurice Kemp, and James Singleton for the entire fourth quarter. The group continued to chip away at Sioux Falls' lead, with a Johnson layup at the 4:15 mark bringing the Charge to within single digits at 88-79 for the first time since 7:39 left in the first. The Skyforce's advantage proved to be too great, as they answered back on the ensuing possession on each of the two times that the visitors got within 10.

That Charge group on the floor for the fourth outscored Sioux Falls 29-18, forcing nine turnovers that resulted in 11 points. Singleton scored 12 points himself in the fourth, while Canton got to the line to convert 14-of-16 chances. The Charge were just 11-of-19 from the charity stripe in the first three periods.

Singleton led Canton with his second playoff double-double in as many games, netting 20 points that included 10-of-10 free throws, 13 rebounds, and three blocks in 42 minutes. Johnson provided 15 points, while Olekaibe finished with 10. Alex Kirk and Antoine Agudio each added 11 points for the Charge. Canton's 35% team shooting was their lowest in a game this year including the regular season.

Shawn Jones paced the Skyforce with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, 14 boards, and two steals in 36 minutes. Scotty Hopson supplied 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 36 minutes. Larry Drew II scored 10 points with eight assists and two steals in 38 minutes.

The deciding Game 3 will be in Sioux Falls tomorrow, April 14th at 8:00 p.m. EST and broadcast live on ESPNU! For breaking news, exclusive stories & content, and ticket information, head to www.CantonCharge.com.
