COVID-19: The Hurricanes have announced that post-game autograph sessions have been cancelled for the remainder of the season as a precaution. The WHL has released a statement regarding the COVID-19 virus: http://bit.ly/2vb3OrP . The ENMAX Centre also provided this statement: "The Coronavirus (COVID -19) risk remains low in Lethbridge, Alberta at this time. ENMAX Centre would like to remind our guests that the venue is cleaned and sanitized daily as a part of our normal business procedures. As a precautionary measure, we are increasing the frequency and extent of our cleanings and sanitizing. Additionally, ENMAX Centre has over 20 hand sanitizing stations located throughout the venue. Special Nights: The Hurricanes will host Awards Night on Wednesday, March 18th when they welcome the Swift Current Broncos with a special pre-game presentation for the annual team awards. The 'Canes will also host Jersey's Off Our Back night on Friday, March 20th after their final regular season home game against the Medicine Hat Tigers which will be your ONLY chance for a game-worn blue jersey.

March 20th Fan Bus: The 'Canes will hold a Fan Bus on Saturday, March 21st when the team travels to Medicine Hat to face the Tigers. Fans can enjoy the Fan Bus for just $55+GST (includes transportation and game ticket). Bus will load at 4:45pm for the 7:30pm game. Call Dylan (403-329-7513) or Tamara (403- 329-7508) to book.

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Wednesday, March 4th

- 2-0 Loss at Prince George Cougars: The Hurricanes were shutout for the first time all season as they fell 2-0 to the Prince George Cougars. Lethbridge fired 37 shots on goal in the loss.

Friday, March 6th

- 6-3 Loss at Kamloops Blazers: The 'Canes were downed by the BC Division leading Kamloops Blazers 6-3 on Friday. Trevor Thurston, Oliver Okuliar and Alex Cotton scored in the loss while Carl Tetachuk made 33 saves.

Saturday, March 7th

- 5-4 Loss at Kelowna Rockets: The Hurricanes suffered their third straight loss as they were downed 5-4 by the Kelowna Rockets to end a four-game road trip. Dylan Cozens scored twice while Ty Nash and Alex Cotton added the others in the defeat.

Friday, March 13th

- vs. Edmonton Oil Kings (7:00pm): The Hurricanes begin a home-and-home against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday at the ENMAX Centre. It will be the final regular season meeting of the year between the two in Lethbridge; the 'Canes are 2-0-0-0 against Edmonton at the ENMAX Centre this season with both wins coming in a shootout.

Sunday, March 15th

- at Edmonton Oil Kings (4:00pm): The 'Canes make their final regular season trip to the Alberta capital on Sunday as they face the Oil Kings in the back-half of a home-and-home set at Rogers Place. The Hurricanes are 1-1-0-0 in the two games in Edmonton this season.

NEWS & NOTES

Bold Strategy, Cotton: Hurricanes defenseman Alex Cotton reached the 20-goal plateau with a goal in Kelowna against the Rockets last Saturday. Cotton is just the third defenseman in Hurricanes history to reach the 20-goal mark joining Shane Peacock (35g in 1991-92; 27g in 1992-93; 27g in 1993-94) and Terry Hollinger (23g in 1991-92). Cotton leads all defenseman in the WHL with 67 points (20g-47a).

Career High: Hurricanes co-captain Dylan Cozens has reached a new mark for points this season. The Buffalo Sabres' first round pick has set a new career-high in points reached the 85-point mark last weekend. Cozens, who had 34 goals and 84 points in 2018-2019, currently sits with 38 goals and 85 points in 51 games this season.

Two-Hundo: Hurricanes overage forward Brett Davis reached the 200-point plateau on Saturday with a three-assist game against the Kelowna Rockets. Davis has totaled 200 points (93g-107a) in 309 games in his WHL career with the Hurricanes, Kootenay ICE and Red Deer Rebels.
