
Canadiens Acquire Bryan Allen from Ducks in Exchange for Rene Bourque

MONTREAL, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have acquired defenceman Bryan Allen from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Rene Bourque.
Bourque had split this season to date between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In 13 games with Montreal, the 6-2, 214-pound forward recorded two assists and six penalty minutes. In four games with Hamilton, he recorded four points (two goals, two assists) and four penalty minutes. In 573 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks, the Lac La Biche, Alta. native has recorded 278 points (142 goals, 136 assists) and 474 penalty minutes. In 83 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs and Norfolk Admirals, the 32-year-old has recorded 64 points (35 goals, 29 assists) and 109 penalty minutes.
Allen has split this season between the Ducks and their AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. In six games with Anaheim, the 6-5, 223-pound defenceman recorded one assist and four penalty minutes. In two games with Norfolk, the Kingston, Ont. native recorded no points or penalty minutes. In 716 career NHL regular season games with the Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks, the 34-year-old has recorded 135 points (29 goals, 106 assists) and 837 penalty minutes.
Also today, the Bulldogs assigned defenceman Bobby Shea to the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. In two games with Hamilton this season, the 5-11, 195-pound defenceman has recorded 14 penalty minutes. In 31 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs and Rockford IceHogs, the Harrison Township, Mich. native has recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) and 98 penalty minutes.
The 'Dogs will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 21 when they'll host the Toronto Marlies at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
