Canada Soccer have confirmed the schedule for the Semi-Final Round of the 2021 Canadian Championship featuring the four remaining teams in the annual Battle of the North for the Voyageurs Cup. Set across two single-match elimination matches, the Semi-Final Round will feature Forge FC against CF Montréal at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario on 27 October followed by Toronto FC against Pacific FC at BMO Field on 3 November.
The winners of the two Semi-Final matches will advance to the 2021 Canadian Championship Final, with dates and location to be announced in November. Winners of the Canadian Championship Final lift the Voyageurs Cup and advance to the 2022 Concacaf Champions League competition with a chance to advance to the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup. As observed throughout the 2021 Canadian Championship, public health guidelines will continue to be observed.
"The Canadian Championship provides Canadians an opportunity to see the best of professional Canadian soccer played with a chance to represent the country in Concacaf Champions League," said Dr. Nick Bontis. "For fans of the 13 participating clubs from coast-to-coast, the Canadian Championship has provided new rivalries, new opportunity, and a chance to face the region's top clubs on the pathway to the FIFA Club World Cup and we are confident that the Semi-Finals and Final will add to the competition's celebrated history."
The Canadian Championship is the highest domestic club competition and leads to a direct entry into the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League with an opportunity to play in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup. The current champions are CF Montréal who won the 2019 Canadian Championship.
