
Canadian and World Champion Curlers to throw inaugural first pitch

(Edmonton, AB) â The Edmonton Cracker-Cats have announced that Canadian and World Champion Curlers, Randy Ferbey and his team, will throw out the first pitch at the home opener of the inaugural season.
On Friday May 27, Randy Ferbey and his team will be on hand to throw out the first pitch of the Cracker-Cats home opener. Prior to the game Randy Ferbey, Scott Pfeifer, Marcel Rocque, and alternate Dan Holowaychuk, will be available to sign autographs between 6:05 and 6:25PM. $5 TELUS phone cards will be given to the first 1000 people through the gate.
Our new mascot will be introduced and the "Name the Mascot" contest will continue. The winner will be announced June 11 and will be awarded two seasons tickets.
The rest of the six game homestand has the following promotions:
- Saturday May 28, magnetic schedule giveaway, game time @ 7:05PM
- Sunday May 29, Shaw presents SpongeBob SquarePants, gates will open early at 11:50AM for a meet and greet, game time @ 1:35PM
- Monday May 30, Burger King presents Whopper of a Win Night (when the Cracker-Cats win everyone gets a free Whopper), game time @ 7:05PM
- Tuesday May 31, 2 for 1 Tuesdays (two fans get in for the price of one), game time @ 7:05PM
- Wednesday June 1, Free Hot Dog Day (first 4000 fans receive a free hot dog), game time @ 7:05PM
The Cracker-Cats opened their inaugural season on May 20, at Kansas City and continue their road trip today in Gary, Indiana. The home opener will take place on May 27, when the Cracker-Cats host the Sioux Falls Canaries.
