New Haven County brought some hot bats into Augusta, NJ and posted 17 runs on 16 hits for the victory against Sussex. LF Kevin Whitesides led the Cutters with a 4-for-4 performance that included three RBI, two doubles and a run. 3B Junior Zamora also paved the way by going 3-for-7 with three RBI, two runs and a double of his own. The Cutters got up 6-1 after four innings, then used an eight-run fifth inning to put the game out of reach. Starting pitcher Ryan Bonesio gave them a strong outing, going seven innings and allowing only two runs.

Grays 1, Quebec 0 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

In a magnificent pitching duel between two teams in a three-way tie for first place, the Grays pushed a runner across in the sixth inning to snag a 1-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader. DH Sean Gamble singled to score C JB Tucker for the decisive run. Grays starting pitcher Richard Bartlett allowed only three hits over six innings for the win. He turned the ball over in the seventh inning to relief pitcher Jerry Dunn, who pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts for the save. Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas went all seven innings, allowing six hits and one run.

Brockton 5, Worcester 4

Trailing 4-1 going into the bottom of the ninth, Brockton rallied for four runs in a dramatic 5-4 victory against Worcester. LF Jeremy Coronado came through with the clutch hit, a two-out single that plated two runners for the win. Brockton 1B Francisco Lebron had two of Brockton's five hits, one a double, and scored twice. The loss tainted a strong outing by Worcester starting pitcher Matt Weagle, who lasted eight and one-third innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run. Worcester RF Andrew Wishy also hit a two-run homer in the eighth.

North Shore 3, New Jersey 0

North Shore starting pitcher Matthew Bishop pitched eight innings of shutout baseball and CF BJ Weed had two hits and two runs to give North Shore the 3-0 win. Relief pitcher Kevin Fitzgerald entered in the ninth inning and retired the first three batters he faced to close out the game. New Jersey had seven hits but couldn't find a way to cross the plate. Jackals starting pitcher Josh Brey only allowed four hits and one earned run in six innings, striking out five, but took the loss.

Quebec 11, Grays 3 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

@ Quebec City, Quebec. Time: 2:11 Attendance: 2308

HR: QUE - Ryan Lehr 2 (2), Eddie Lantigua (2)

After a tight, low-scoring game in the first round of the day's doubleheader, Quebec exploded in the second game for an 11-3 victory to split with the Grays. 3B Ryan Lehr blasted two longballs to drive in three and 1B Eddie Lantigua was a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run. The pair each hit two-run homers in the first inning, and after a five-run second inning, Quebec had an early 10-0 lead. LF Chad Gabriel was a bright spot for the Grays, going 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run.

Nashua 8, Atlantic City 2

@ Atlantic City, NJ. Time: 2:23 Attendance: 950

HR: NAS - Olmo Rosario (3), Austin Wasserman (1)

Nashua scored early and often, taking an 8-2 victory against Atlantic City. The Pride scored twice in the first, twice in the third, and plated four runs in the fifth inning to put the game away. SS Olmo Rosario led the way, hitting for the cycle with a 4-for-5 performance that included a double in the ninth inning to complete the accomplishment. Rosario had three RBI, three runs and a stolen base to complete his stellar day. Nashua starting pitcher Akira Okamoto turned in a splendid game, pitching eight innings with seven strikeouts, only allowing two runs. The Pride have now won three straight games while the Surf lost their fifth in a row.
