Another superb performance by North Shore starting pitcher Bryan Morse helps the Spirit to a 1-0 series lead with a victory over the Quebec Captiales. Morse went seven solid innings allowing only one earned run on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts. CF B.J. Weed and 3B Antoin Gray were the leaders at the plate for the Spirit with each having 1-for-3 nights and both plating runs. For Quebec, DH T.J. Shimizu and LF Ed Montague both went 1-for-4 with each driving in a run. Game two is tomorrow night back in Lynn with Keith Dunn going for Quebec while Matt Bishop takes the hill for North Shore. Game time is scheduled for 6:05 PM ET.

2B Jose Delgado and 3B Jeremy Terni were sensational tonight in helping New Haven County to a big win over Brockton and going up 1-0 in the best-of-five series. Delgado and Terni went a combined 5-for-8 at the plate with two run scored and two runs batted in. SS Chas Terni also chipped in with a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Cutters' starting pitcher Rolando Valles gets the victory going eight strong innings giving up only one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts. The Rox were led tonight by LF Eugene Julien and RF Joe Hough who each had two-hit outings at the plate. Game two is scheduled for tomorrow night at 7:05 PM in West Haven. Brockton will send 10-game winner John Kelly to the mound with New Haven County countering with Justin Knoff.
