Sussex 8, Quebec 2

The Sussex Skyhawks plated four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back as they rolled to an easy win on the road against Quebec. The Skyhawks piled up 11 hits in the game, led by DH Jorge Moreno who was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Sussex LF Alex Frazier also had a good game, going 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. Skyhawks starting pitcher Kyle Ruwe picked up the win to run his record to 9-4 on the year. He allowed two runs on nine hits in eight innings of work. Capitales DH Greg Stevens led the way for Quebec in the losing effort. He was 3-for-4.

New Jersey 5, Ottawa 2

Every New Jersey hitter except one recorded a hit in this one, helping to propel the Jackals to a win at home. New Jersey CF Zach Smithlin led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Including Smithlin, four different Jackals hitters recorded multi-hit games. New Jersey starting pitcher Aaron Tressler had a great outing on the mound. He allowed two runs on just five hits while striking out three in eight innings to notch the win, his third of the season.

Nashua 9, Worcester 2 (6 innings)

The Nashua Pride scored a total of seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings and it was a good thing they did. After a rain delay of nearly an hour, the game was called, giving the Pride its 11th win of the second half. Nashua SS Sandy Almonte led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Pride 3B Mike Torres was 1-for-4, adding a three-run homer. Nashua starting pitcher Isaac Burkett was credited with the win. He allowed two runs on six hits while striking out four in five innings of work to run his record to 3-2 on the year.

Atlantic City 9, Brockton 2

The Atlantic City Surf scored a run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead and never trailed en route to an easy win going away. Surf starting pitcher Rory Shortell had a great outing on the mound. He allowed two runs on nine hits while striking out seven in eight innings of work to earn the win. With the victory, Shortell runs his mark to 6-2 on the season. Atlantic City 1B Joe Burke did the bulk of the damage at the plate. He was 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI.
