The Worcester Tornadoes got a great outing from starting pitcher Matt Weagle to edge Sussex at home in game one of the doubleheader. Weagle allowed just four hits and did not walk a batter, while striking out four, en route to a complete game shutout. His counterpart, Skyhawks starter Gary Galvez, also went the distance in the 7-inning contest, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three. Worcester 3B Mike MacMillan led the way at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Tornadoes 2B Omar Pena drove in the games only other run.

Worcester 7, Sussex 3 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

Not only did the Worcester Tornadoes sweep their doubleheader against Sussex at home, but their bullpen did not throw a single pitch in either game. Tornadoes starting pitcher Eddie Pena threw the teams second complete game of the day, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out five and walking none to improve to 2-0 on the season. Pena got plenty of help from the offense, which pounded out 12 hits, led by LF Scott Grimes, who was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Worcester DH Francisco Caraballo was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in the win.

New Jersey 3, Ottawa 1

The New Jersey Jackals didn't score until the fifth inning, but those two rune they scored in that frame were all they needed as they went on to squeeze by Ottawa 3-1 at home. Jackals starting pitcher Michael Vicaro was great, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four in 7 2/3 innings to improve to 1-1 on the year. New Jersey CF Zach Smithlin led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and newly acquired 1B Juan Tejada pitched in with a 2-for-3 effort in which he scored two runs. Jackals reliever Rusty Tucker tossed a scoreless ninth to record his second save.

Brockton 11, Nashua 3

The Brockton Rox got plenty of offense in a rout of Nashua on the road. The Rox tallied 20 hits as a team, led by RF Matt Maloney who was 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs score and an RBI. Every starter recorded a hit for Brockton and all but one starter recorded more than one hit. LF Joseph Frazee also had a notable game, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI. Brockton starter Rolando Viera was the beneficiary of such support, recording his first win of the season. Viera allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out six in five innings.

Atlantic City 4, Quebec 1 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

The Atlantic City Surf got a great outing from starting pitcher Brian Rodaway to snag the first game of a doubleheader against Quebec at home. Rodaway allowed one run on four hits and struck out three in the complete game effort. The win improved his mark to 2-1 on the year. The Surf gave him plenty of help at the plate, knocking out 12 hits. SS Anthony Granato led the way offensively for Atlantic City. He was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Three other Surf hitters recorded multi-hit games, including DH Eddie Kim, who was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Quebec 6, Atlantic City 2 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

The Capitales got some good pitching from the duo of starter TJ Stanton and reliever Luis Valdez to salvage a split in the doubleheader. Stanton allowed one unearned run on four hits and struck out five in four innings, but did not factor in the decision. Luis Valdez picked up his second win of the year after allowing a run on three hits while striking out five in three innings of relief. Quebec RF Issael Gonzalez was productive at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI.
