The Atlantic City Surf extended their winning streak to five as the Surf beat the Ottawa Rapidz at Bernie Robbins Stadium this afternoon. The Surf did most of their damage in the fourth inning as they plated five of their six runs. Atlantic City LF Clyde Williams went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a run driven in. SS Anthony Granato and 1B Joe Burke each chipped with two hits as well for the Surf. Atlantic City starter JC Huguet notched his first win of the season as he pitched five innings allowing two earned runs on three hits with four walks and five strikeouts. Surf relievers Derek Barrows and Aaron Easton pitched four solid innings giving up only a hit and a walk. 1B Jabe Bergeron went 1-for-2 and drove in both Ottawa runs in the losing effort.

The Sussex Skyhawks pounded the ball en route to their third win of the season. Sussex tallied a staggering 22 hits as a team, led by C Yohanny Valera, who was 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI. RF Jorge Moreno and LF Alex Frazier each went 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBI apiece. Skyhawks starter Kyle Ruwe allowed three runs on 10 hits through seven innings of work to improve his record to 2-0. In all, seven different Sussex hitters collected at least two hits and each player in the lineup recorded at least one.

Nashua 12, Worcester 5

The Nashua Pride plated five runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as they rolled to an easy win at home, notching their second win this season. The Pride collected 16 hits in all, led by DH Dennis Abreu who was 4-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI. The top of the order did its job with leadoff man SS Sandy Almonte and the No. 2 hitter Argenis Tavarez combining to score seven runs. Nashua starter Hideki Nagasaka allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings of work to get his first win of the season.

New Jersey 8, Quebec 5

The New Jersey Jackals scored seven runs in the ninth inning to stun the Quebec Capitales and win going away. Quebec starting pitcher Eric Cyr was great through seven innings, allowing one run on six hits while striking out five, but did not factor in the decision. New Jersey C Craig Maddox led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Jackals reliever Rusty Tucker notched his first win of the year after tossing two hitless innings while striking out three. His record now stands at 1-0.
