New Haven County 10, New Jersey 6

The New Haven County finished off the regular season in style with a sweep of the New Jersey Jackals. The 6-7-8 hitters of 1B Chris Gaskin, RF Orlando Encarnacion and SS Chas Terni combined to go 7-for-11 at the plate with six runs scored and five runs driven in. Gaskin and Encarnacion each homered in the game as well for the Cutters. New Haven County reliever Matt Salvato won his second game of the year going five innings allowing two runs, one earned on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts. For the Jackals, 1B Marcos Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. New Haven County finished the season at 47-46 while the New Jersey Jackals heads to the postseason in search of the Can-Am League Championship.

Nashua 6, Grays 3

The Nashua Pride scored five times in the first inning and never looked back as they rolled to a win over the Grays. Pride starting pitcher Joe Gannon allowed just two hits and struck out two in six shutout innings to notch the win and improve to 1-1 on the year. Despite being behind shutdown through the first eight innings, the Grays refused to go quietly. They scored three times in the ninth inning to claw back into the game, but they would get no closer. Nashua 1B Bryan Duplissie led the way at the plate. He was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Quebec 11, Worcester 5

The Quebec Capitales used an impressive offensive effort to cruise to an easy win over Worcester at home. The Capitales plated 11 runs on 18 hits led by 1B Eddie Lantigua, who was 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. Quebec SS Ivan Naccarata also had a good game, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Capitales starting pitcher Kevin Beavers allowed four runs, one earned, on seven hits and struck out five in seven innings of work to improve to 5-4 on the year. Worcester RF Rico Santana was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the way in the losing effort.

The Brockton Rox got a great outing by starting pitcher Mike McTamney and plenty of offense in support of him as they rolled to a rout of Atlantic City on the road. McTamney allowed just three hits and struck out four in a complete game shutout. The win brought his record to 6-10 on the season. The Rox tallied their 10 runs on 12 hits, led by 1B Jerod Edmondson who was 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI. 3B Melvin Falu also had a good game, going 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.

Sussex 7, North Shore 1

The Sussex Skyhawks ended their season with a win over first place North Shore behind a great outing from starting pitcher Ryan Dittfurth. Dittfurth allowed one run on four hits and struck out eight without issuing a walk en route to the complete game victory. The win improved his record to 9-5 on the year. The Skyhawks used 14 hits to plate seven runs in support of their starter, led by LF Alex Frazier who was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Sussex 1B Jabe Bergeron had a productive game at the plate as well. He was 1-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Despite the loss, the North Shore Spirit head to the playoffs with hopes of capping their impressive season with the Can-Am League Championship.
