A big night for 3B Patrick Deschenes led the Quebec Capitales to victory over the Worcester Tornadoes. Deschenes went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two runs driven in. LF Boomer Berry and Patrick Scalabrini each chipped in with two hits of their own in the Capitales 13-hit attack. Quebec starter Keith Dunn hurled another solid game going eight innings allowing only one earned run on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts. He is now 9-5 on the year. DH Patrick Perry went 1-for-4 and scored the lone run for the Tornadoes.

Sussex 8, North Shore 7

The Sussex Skyhawks plated the go ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and held on to edge the North Shore Spirit on the road. The Skyhawks' 4-5-6 hitters of DH Larry Bethea, LF Alex Frazier and 1B Jabe Bergeron combined to 6-for-14 at the plate with three runs scored and six RBI. Skyhawks reliever Edisbel Benitez evened up record at 6-6 with the win going 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two walks while striking out one. For the Spirit in losing effort, LF Mike Torres went 1-for-5 with a two-run blast in the bottom of the first inning.

Nashua 11, Grays 3

Nashua inched closer to clinching a berth in the playoffs as they routed the Grays at home Saturday. With one more win by Nashua or one more loss by Quebec, the Pride get the last playoff spot. The Pride scored four runs in the first inning, two more in the second and three in the third to take a 9-0 lead after three innings. 1B Chris Colabello had a spectacular night going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and five RBI. RF/CF John Ramistella also had three hits in four plate appearances for Nashua with three runs scored. Akira Okamoto collected his ninth win of the year in a seven inning performance giving up three runs, two earned, on nine hits with six strikeouts.

Atlantic City 12, Brockton 4

Atlantic City plated four runs in the bottom of first inning and rolled on from there to rout the Brockton Rox. The top three hitters in the Surf lineup, CF Lucas Taylor, 3B Anthony Granato and LF Ed Montague went a combined 7-for-12 at the dish with eight runs scored and two RBI. Atlantic City DH Clyde Williams had a 2-for-4 game with five RBI including his 13th dinger of the season. Brian Rodaway continues to shine for the Surf as he claimed his league leading 15th win of the year. Rodaway went five innings allowing no earned runs on six hits with four punchouts.

New Haven County 4, New Jersey 3

HR: NHC-Ervin Alcantara (10), Orlando Encarnacion (6)

Orlando Encarnacion's solo home run in the bottom of seventh inning broke a 3-3 tie and led the Cutters to the victory over New Jersey. The home run for Encarnacion was his 6th of the season. The Cutters jumped out to a 1-0 lead due to an error by Jackals 2B Joe Mihalics. However, in the top of the third inning, New Jersey would take a 3-1 lead thanks to a two-run RBI double by Sandy Madera and a RBI double by Wilton Veras. New Haven County came back in the bottom of fifth inning to nod it at three apiece with a solo home run by Ervin Alcantara and a single by Kevin Whiteside plating Jeremy Pickrel. That set the stage for the bottom of the seventh inning as Encarnacion hit his home run to give the Cutters a 4-3 lead and win the game by the same score.
