Leading 1-0 in the fourth inning, Quebec RF Scotty Martin hit his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot, to help the Capitales break away from Sussex. Martin was 2-for-3 on the night with a run and three RBI. Not to be outdone, Capitales DH Ivan Rojas also hit his fourth homer of the season, a solo shot in the seventh. On the mound, Capitales starting pitcher Michel Simard earned his sixth win of the season despite defensive woes after pitching seven innings and allowing three unearned runs on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts. With the win, Quebec sits 3.0 games behind league-leading North Shore in the second half standings.

The Grays entered the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday night trailing 2-1, but after a flurry of base hits, ended the game with a walk-off RBI-single by RF Anthony Bennett. Bennett went 2-for-4 on the night with two RBI. The Jackals took an early lead, scoring the game's first run in the top of the first inning, and did not trail until Bennett's game-winning hit. Both teams got solid performances from their starting pitchers, but neither figured in the decision. Grays hurler Fontella Jones pitched 6.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts, while Jackals pitcher Josh Brey struck out five over seven innings while allowing a run on three hits and three walks.

Worcester 13, Brockton 5

Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Worcester took advantage of an extra at bat in the inning due to two Rox errors and charged ahead 7-5 on a grand slam by 3B Mike MacMillan. MacMillan went 2-for-4 on the night with a run and six RBI, one less than his season total going into Thursday night. After a six-run sixth inning, the Tornadoes were not done, again scoring six runs in the seventh inning to take a commanding 13-5 lead. On defense, the Tornadoes set a new Can-Am League record with five double plays, one of which came when Worcester C Mike DeCarlo caught Rox 1B Francisco LeBron stealing second after a strikeout of Brockton DH Jason Radwan.

The Cutters allowed three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, falling behind 7-3 with only two innings left to play. But New Haven County was not done yet. The Cutters used a two-run home run from SS Chas Terni in the eighth inning to get back within shouting distance at 7-5 and in the ninth, got a solo shot from DH Orlando Encarnacion to spur a three-run inning, taking an 8-7 lead. Cutters closer Andy Weimer entered in the bottom of the ninth and allowed no runs on one hit with a strikeout to pick up his ninth save of the season. For the Pride, 1B Bryan Duplissie went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
