Atlantic City starter Coogie Freedman earned his first victory of the season in his first start since the 2005 season. Freedman shut out the Tornadoes over 5.2 innings and allowed just three hits with three walks and four strikeouts. The Surf bullpen continued the dominating pitching performance, as Ryan Rafferty, Jamie Tricoglou and Matt Pike pitched the final 3.1 innings, allowing only one hit combined with one walk and five strikeouts. The Surf backed Freedman early with a run in the bottom of the second inning and Surf SS David Keesee hit a solo home run in the fifth to give Atlantic City a 2-0 lead. Keesee went 4-for-4 on the night with two runs and three RBI.

@West Haven, CT. Time: 2:52 Attendance: 2139

W: Brad Whitworth (7-2) L: Fontella Jones (1-1) S: NONE

HR: G-JB Tucker (3)

Starting Cutters pitcher Brad Whitworth pitched seven impressive innings on the way to his seventh win of the season. Whitworth shut out the Grays on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts. On offense, the Cutters took an early lead after five first-inning hits scored three New Haven County batters. Cutters 3B Junior Zamora led the way offensively, scoring a run on a 2-for-4 night that included two RBI. The Grays threatened a comeback in the ninth inning, getting the tying run to the plate after a home run by C JB Tucker, but Cutters reliever Adam Piechowski struck out Grays LF Brian Baker to end the threat.

North Shore 14, Brockton 3

@Brockton, MA. Time: 3:14 Attendance: 4217

W: Chris Farley (8-2) L: Gary Galvez (2-6) S: NONE

HR: B-Tony Gonzalez (1)

The Spirit used a seven-run ninth inning to pile on late and essentially slash any hopes of a Brockton comeback. With two Rox errors in the inning, all seven Spirit runs were unearned. The Spirit never trailed in the game, jumping ahead 3-0 in the top of the second inning on the strength of a two-run double by Spirit DH Josue Lopez. Lopez went a perfect 5-for-5 on the night with three runs and four RBI and fell just a home run short of the cycle. Starting Spirit pitcher Chris Farley picked up his eighth win of the season, pitching six innings and allowing only one run on eight hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. For the Rox, CF Jeremy Coronado went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

New Jersey 10, Sussex 0

@Little Falls, NJ. Time: 3:06 Attendance: 3399

W: Michael Vicaro (6-2) L: Jake Brooks (0-1) S: NONE

HR: NJ-Clyde Williams (7)

Jackals starting pitcher Michael Vicaro allowed only four hits over six innings with four walks and six strikeouts en route to his sixth win of the season. The Jackals bullpen took over in the seventh and pitched nearly perfect baseball for the remaining three innings to finish off the Skyhawks. The New Jersey bats gave Vicaro an early lead to work with, scoring five runs in the first three innings, highlighted by a third-inning three-run home run by 1B Clyde Williams. Williams went 2-for-5 on the night with a run and four RBI. Jackals RF Francisco Leandro went 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring twice and knocking in a run.

Nashua 3, Quebec 2

@Nashua, NH. Time: 3:13 Attendance: 1916

W: Angelo Burrows (3-1) L: TJ Stanton (1-5) S: NONE

HR: Q-Nick Trainor (2)

With the score tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, one out and runners on second and third, the Capitales intentionally walked Nashua SS Olmo Rosario to load the bases and make every play a force. But that became a moot point, as Pride DH Allen Mottram singled in the winning run to give the Pride a walk-off 3-2 victory over the Capitales. Pride starting pitcher Hideki Nagasaka pitched eight innings and allowed two runs on five hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts, but did not figure in the decision. Instead Nashua reliever Angelo Burrows, who pitched the top of the ninth inning and allowed one hit with one strikeout, got his third win of the season. With the win, Nashua jumps over Quebec into second place in final first half standings.
