New Jersey 7, Brockton 2 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

New Jersey rolled out to a 5-0 lead through two innings and cruised to a big win over Brockton in the first game of the doubleheader. Jackals starting pitcher Raul Valdes picked up his seventh win of the season going five efficient innings allowing no earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts. 1B Bill Peavey and C Clay Kuklick were the leaders at the plate for New Jersey as Peavey went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two runs batted in while Kuklick had a 2-for-4 outing with a run scored. For the Rox, 1B Francisco Lebron and LF/3B Jeff LaRue each had 2-for-3 performances.

Brockton 6, New Jersey 5 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Brockton beats New Jersey and gains a split in the doubleheader thanks in part to a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rox 3B/C Mike Torres and 2B Eugene Julien combined to go 4-for-7 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Julien also tallied his first home run of the season. John Koch picked up his fourth win of the season for the Rox going one inning allowing two earned runs on three hits with a strikeout. Brockton finishes the season at 49-43 and will now go on to meet the New Haven County Cutters in the playoffs.

Quebec 9, Sussex 8 (Completion of Suspended Game from 9/3)

Quebec scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to comeback from an 8-6 deficit to beat the Skyhawks and clinch a playoff spot. Capitales LF Ed Montague had a tremendous game at the plate going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and four runs driven in. C Olivier Lepine also chipped in with two hits in four at-bats along with a run scored and two runs knocked in. Quebec reliever T.J. Stanton pitched a perfect eighth and ninth inning to pickup the win and evened his record at 1-1. Quebec will now take on the North Shore Spirit in the playoffs beginning on Wednesday.

North Shore 3, Worcester 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

North Shore starting pitcher Joey Siak was sensational in leading the Spirit to a game one win over the Tornadoes and their third straight victory. Siak went six strong innings allowing no earned runs on two hits with a strikeout. Siak moved his record over the .500 mark at 8-7. Kevin Fitzgerald pitched a perfect seventh inning to collect his 27th save, the best in the league. DH Chris Rowan and 1B Alex Trezza each had two-hit games for North Shore with both scoring a run. 3B Austin Wasserman and DH Patrick Perry were the only Tornadoes batters to notch a hit.

Worcester 4, North Shore 3 (Game 2 - 9 Innings)

HR: NS-Andrew Wishy (7); W-Jabe Bergeron (1)

2B Jeff LaHair's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning brought home RF Jabe Bergeron to give the Tornadoes the victory over the Spirit and a split in the doubleheader. LaHair and Bergeron each had two-hit outings in the game with LaHair driving in two runs and Bergeron scoring two runs. Chris Shank picked up the victory for Worcester, his second of the season. Shank went 2 2/3 innings allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four Spirit batters. LF Antoin Gray, RF Andrew Wishy, and SS Morgan Brown each had two hits for North Shore. North Shore finishes the regular season with a 58-32 record.

New Haven County 4, Nashua 3

New Haven County rallies for two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to get past the Pride and end the regular season on a five game winning streak. New Haven County reliever Jarrett Stawarz pitched two innings allowing only a walk with two strikeouts to notch his sixth victory of the season. Cutters' LF Horace Lawrence and 1B Chris Gaskin each had 2-for-3 outings at the plate with Gaskin plating a run. For the Pride, C Mark Hamilton went 2-for-2 with a run scored and three runs batted in.
