Quebec 1, Atlantic City 0 (12 Innings - Quebec leads series 1-0)

Quebec and Atlantic City battled to a scoreless stalemate for nearly 12 complete innings. And then a bizarre play scored the only run of the contest giving the Capitales a 1-0 win and a 1-0 lead in the series. With two out in the bottom of the 12th, Quebec 2B Josh Colafemina drew a walk from Surf closer Walker Whitley. With the next batter RF Mike Goss at the plate, Colafemina broke for second. Surf catcher William Plaza's throw got into center field as Colafemina rounded the bag. With Colafemina heading for third, Atlantic City center fielder Lucas Taylor misplayed the ball and by the time he threw the ball in the direction of home, Colafemina, who never stopped running, had crossed the plate with the winning run. Quebec had two chances earlier in extra innings to win the game, but each time Atlantic City relievers escaped a bases loaded jam. Orlando Trias pitched the final two innings for Quebec and picked up the win. Whitley suffered the hard luck loss for Atlantic City.
