New Jersey 8, Ottawa 3 (Game 2 - 9 Innings)

New Jersey finished off the doubleheader and series sweep of Ottawa as they defeated the Champions by the score of 8-3 in game two. Trailing 3-2 after 2 ½ innings, the Jackals scored five runs over the next four innings to take a commanding 7-3 lead and cruise to victory.

The Jackals collected 11 hits as a team and was led by CF David Harris who went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. New Jersey C Kevin Torres contributed three hits in four at-bats along with a run scored and RBI while 3B Taylor Oldham scored a run and drove in two in a 1-for-1 game.

New Jersey starting pitcher Fernando Cruz tossed 8 1/3 innings and picked-up his first win. Cruz gave up three earned runs on seven hits and struck out eight batters.

For Ottawa in the loss, LF Brian Portelli went 1-for-3 with a home run.

Trois-Rivieres 2, Sussex County 0

Starting pitcher Tyler Garkow and reliever Shaun Ellis combined on a five-hit shutout as Trois-Rivieres beat Sussex County, 2-0.

Garkow went the first 7 2/3 innings of the contest allowing the five hits and three walks while striking out seven in 114 pitches. Ellis finished off the game by tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings (15 pitches) and fanning two batters. Garkow notched his seventh win and Ellis collected his seventh save.

Offensively for the Aigles, RF Michael Suchy and CF Alexi Colon each went 1-for-3 with a run scored. First baseman Kevin Cornelius also chipped in a double and an RBI for Trois-Rivieres. The Aigles scored single runs in the second and sixth innings.

For Sussex County in defeat, LF Connor Crane went 2-for-4.

Rockland 8, Quebec 4

Rockland jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings of play and would cruise from there to an 8-4 win over Quebec.

The Boulders had eight hits in the contest and was led by the 5-6 hitters of C Kevin Krause and 3B Cody Regis. The duo combined to go 5-for-7 at the plate with three home runs, four runs scored and six RBIs. Left fielder Conrad Gregor also aided the Rockland offense by chipping in a blast and scoring two runs in a 1-for-4 night.

Boulders starter Brian Ernst allowed three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings pitched to notch his third win of the year. Ernst allowed a walk and eight hits while striking out six batters.

Left fielder James McOwen went 2-for-5 with a run scored for the Capitales.
