Quebec 11, Newark 1
The Quebec Capitales scored three runs in the first inning and added four more in the bottom of the second as they rolled past the Newark Bears for an 11-1 win. Capitales 1B Robert Wagner got Quebec off to a quick start when he belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first. Wagner led Quebec with three RBIs, and LF Ben Gorang went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Center fielder Goefrey Tomlinson doubled and had two RBIs for Quebec, and RF Sebastien Boucher had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Taking advantage of good run support, Quebec starting pitcher John Mariotti tossed six shutout innings and scattered nine hits to earn the win. For Newark, CF Brandon Watson went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss.
New Jersey 8, Pittsfield 4
The New Jersey Jackals scored two runs in the first inning and plated three in the sixth inning as they outlasted Pittsfield for an 8-4 win. Jackals 2B Myron Leslie batted in two runs, and CF Sean M. Smith went 5-for-6 at the plate with three runs scored and an RBI. New Jersey DH Mike Jones, SS Mike DeJesus, LF Nick Santomauro and 3B D'Angelo Jimenez each batted in one run for the Jackals. New Jersey starting pitcher A.J. Wideman was credited with the win and pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits. For Pittsfield, SS Danny Bomback had three RBIs in a losing effort.
