Atlantic City starting pitcher Rory Shortell pitched well and into the eighth inning to lead Atlantic City to an easy win on the road. Shortell's final line was three runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. With the win, his record runs to 3-2 on the season. The Surf collected 11 hits in the contest led by CF Lucas Taylor, who was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and a stolen base. Atlantic City SS Anthony Granato had a good game out of the leadoff slot. He was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. Ottawa RF Mike Muscato was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the losing effort.

With the scored tied 4-4 and two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Worcester SS Chuck Jeroloman picked up his first hit of the game on a 2-2 pitch, a double to right center. It turned out to be a big one when the next batter, pinch-hitter Jeff LaHair singled through the middle to score Jeroloman and give the Tornadoes a 5-4 win. Worcester reliever Eddie Pena was credited with the win, running his mark to 4-3 on the year. Tornadoes 1B Chris Colabello and RF Scott Grimes each hit solo homers in the contest. Sussex RF Jorge Moreno and 3B Jay Yaconetti each homered to lead the Skyhawks offensively.
