After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Quebec Capitales tied the score at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the second, then took the lead for good with four more in the fourth inning to move ahead 6-2. Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out three in seven innings of work to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Capitales collected 13 hits as a team, led by LF Alex Nunez, who was 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI.

The Ottawa Rapidz, behind a strong offensive performance from DH Jake Daubert, beat the Worcester Tornadoes on the road. Daubert on the night went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Reid Price notched his fourth win of the season for Ottawa. He allowed two runs on two hits in one inning of work. Rapidz reliever Cardoza Tucker struck out the side in the ninth inning to collect his fifth save of the year. Worcester LF Francisco Caraballo led the way at the plate in the losing effort. He was 2-for-3 with a home run two RBI.

With the score tied 2-2, the Sussex Skyhawks rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning that would prove to be the difference in their 4-2 win over the Surf. Sussex 3B Jay Yaconnetti was 1-for-2 in the contest with a solo homer to lead the offense. Skyhawks reliever Roger Lincoln picked up his first win, thanks to two scoreless innings in which he struck out three and allowed one hit. Sussex closer Matt Petrusek took over in the ninth and fanned two en route to his 21st save.

Brockton 5, New Jersey 2

The Brockton Rox scored twice in the top of the first inning and rolled to an important win on the road to pull within a game of .500 in the second half. Brockton starting pitcher John Kelly allowed two runs on six hits while fanning six in six innings of work to run his record to 8-5 on the season. Rox RF Dennis Abreu led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a run scored. Brockton closer Jerry Dunn took over in the ninth inning and retired the side in order to record his 22nd save of the year.
