
Campanelli Named Top Field

Campanelli Stadium in Brockton won the Daktronics Northeast League Playing Field of the Year award Saturday.
Campanelli Stadium boasts the best playing field for the second straight year after New Jersey won the award for four seasons in a row.
"I've been working 12 years in baseball and haven't seen a better kept field with a more dedicated staff," general manager Dave Echols said. "Groundskeeper Tommy Hassett is to be commended for his upkeep of the field.
Built in collaboration with the city, the 4,750-seat facility was constructed just in time for the 2002 season, the city of Brockton's first professional team since 1915.
