Campana: âÃâ¬ÃÅInter Miami Is Going on the Right PathâÃâ¬ÃÂ

Inter Miami CF News Release
Inter Miami CF secured another three points in MLS action Saturday night at DRV PNK Stadium, defending home field advantage with a 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers. This victory extends Inter Miami's unbeaten streak at home in all competitions to six games, five of which were victories.
Leonardo Campana once again led from the front, opening the scoring for Inter Miami off of Christopher McVey's first assist for the club. Campana took the opportunity after the match to praise his teammates' efforts in supporting his scintillating run of form.
"I feel really proud; first of all because I think Inter Miami is going on the right path. Individually, it's important as a striker to score, but this wouldn't be possible without my teammates. I'm very, very grateful for them."
The Ecuadorian target man also commented on the breaking news that he was called up to the national team.
"It's a pleasure to be there. It's an honor to represent your national team. I think I've worked really hard to be called up, so again, I'm really happy. My goal is to be in Qatar; not just to go, but to play in the World Cup. I work every day to put Inter Miami and my country where they belong, and hopefully I can keep scoring so I can help the team."
Campana, who has seven goals thus far for the 2022 MLS regular season, and eight in all competitions, also praised the squad's ambitions.
"We're starting to build something, something that is going to be good and hopefully we can go to the playoffs. Our mentality is to be champions. Hopefully we can achieve that and put Miami where it belongs."
Head coach Phil Neville shared Campana's sentiments, expressing that he feels the squad has moved in the right direction, and is able to stand toe-to-toe with the league's finest.
"The teams we've played over the last three, four, five weeks have been some of the top teams and I'd say that there's no team I've thought [were] miles better than us. We can compete with every team. We've got players that I see that can compete with the best in the league and that's what I told them today. We can compete with anyone."
