
Camilli, Roadrunners Fall Short

EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners were outdueled by the Alexandria Aces 1-0 Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Jadd Schmeltzer (1-0) pitched eight shutout innings allowing six hits and earned his first win of the season for the Aces.
Edinburg starter Curtis Camilli (3-2) took the tough luck loss after pitching a complete game while allowing just one run on seven hits.
Chad Bunting got the only run of the game on the board for the Aces (18-17) in the top of the fourth with an RBI single that scored Austin Newell from second making it 1-0.
The Roadrunners (15-20) had the tying run in scoring position in the bottom of the ninth but Gabe Grammer retired pinch-hitter Tylor Prudhomme for his fourth save of the season giving the Aces the 1-0 victory.
The Roadrunners and Aces will wrap up their four-game Saturday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Sunday's series opener against the McAllen Thunder will be RGV Food Bank Night where four cans of food get you a general admission ticket.
