Camden Riversharks Offense Strikes

Camden Riversharks News Release


The Camden Riversharks defeated the York Revolution with a score of 9-5. Derell McCall took the win making his record (9-9) while Chris Salberg was charged with his first the loss of the season this evening.

The Riversharks came out strong in the first inning of play scoring four runs. Teuris Olivares drove in three runs with his homer to right field. Just before, Raul Padron singled to score Sean smith who got on base with a fielder's choice earlier this same inning.

York earned back three of those runs in the next half inning. Jose Herrera shot a double into right field. James Shanks followed with a single and Ian Bladergoen was given a free pass to first. Steve Hakke brought Herrera in and Shanks crossed the plate on a right fielder error. Chuck Jeroloman drove Bladergoen in to make the score 4-3 on a fielder's choice.

The home team tacked on a run in each the second, fourth, and fifth innings to extend their lead 7-3. Two runs were scored by Estee Harris and one from Chris Malec.

The Revolution fought back to add two more runs in the sixth after Steve Hakke drove in both Vince Harrison and Bladergoen, 7-5. Harrison singled and Bladergoen walked earlier this inning.

The Riversharks held onto their lead by scoring a few more runs this evening. After a Richie Robnett single in the seventh, Chris Walker hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive Robnett in to score. The next inning Malec blasted a home run over the right field wall to make the final score 9-5.
