Cambage's 16-Point, 14-Rebound Double-Double Not Enough as Aces Fall, 69-66, at Seattle

SEATTLE, WA - Las Vegas held Seattle to just two made field goals in the fourth quarter, Friday evening, but couldn't quite get over the hump as the Storm held on for a 69-66 victory. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Aces.

KEY RUNS

First Quarter

Las Vegas led 4-3, but the Storm scored 9 straight points, and 16 of the next 18 to go up 19-6 with 3:03 to go in the first quarter.

Second Quarter

Las Vegas still trailed 27-19, but scored eight straight to tie the game with 5:25 remaining in the first half.

Seattle countered by scoring 11 of the next 13 points to go up 38-29.

Third Quarter

None.

Fourth Quarter

The Aces trailed by eight, 63-55, with 6:39 to go following a pair of Crystal Langhorne free throws. Las Vegas scored the next six points to pull within two, and the Aces sliced the lead to one on two additional occasions, but couldn't close it out.

KEY STATS

Las Vegas outscored the Storm 34 to 22 in points in the paint (Las Vegas averaged a league-high 39.9 points in the paint per game heading into the evening).

Seattle made 20 of 20 from the charity stripe, while the Aces went 9 for 14.

The Aces connected on 42.9 percent of their shots from the field, while the Storm made 27.8 percent.

Seattle shot 9 for 26 from three-point range (34.6), while the Aces made 5 of 11 from long distance (45.5).

Las Vegas committed 21 turnovers to 20 for the Storm, but the Aces turned Seattle's miscues into 22 points, while Storm turned Las Vegas' errors into 15 points.

GAME NOTES

Aces streaks and statistics do not include the Las Vegas vs. Washington game from July 5 which was suspended at halftime due to an earthquake.

Seattle made just two field goals in the fourth quarter.

A'ja Wilson exited the game with 6:00 to go in the third quarter with an injured left ankle, with the score 48-42 Seattle.

Liz Cambage scored in double figures for the 48th straight game which is the longest active streak in the WNBA (16 points). She also grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the season.

Kayla McBride scored in double figures for the 15th time this season (11 points).

Kelsey Plum scored in double figures for the 8th time this season (10 points).

Seattle's 27.8 percent shooting from the field is the lowest percentage the Aces have allowed this season, and the third time Las Vegas has held a team below 30 percent this season.

NEXT GAME

Las Vegas returns home for a Sunday, July 21 meeting with the Minnesota Lynx. Tip is slated for 3 pm PT at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
