Saskatoon Blades News Release

Saskatoon, SK - Derek Keenan, general manager of the Saskatchewan Rush, announced today that former National Lacrosse League player, Cam Sedgwick, has been hired as the offensive coach. Cam will join the coaching staff with head coach Jimmy Quinlan and defensive coach Jeremy Tallevi.

"We completed an extremely extensive hiring process for a new offensive coordinator," says general manager Derek Keenan. "We had five outstanding candidates and I'd like to thank all of them for their interest and patience in the process. We are happy to announce Cam Sedgwick as our coach to lead the offence. Cam brings extensive experience as a former NLL player and as a coach at the higher levels. I'm excited to see Cam's innovation on the O end come to fruition with the Rush!"

Sedgwick was drafted to the Toronto Rock in the 1998 NLL Draft and joined the league in 2002 with the Vancouver Ravens, later the San Jose Stealth and finished his career with the Washington Stealth. In 145 games played, the left-shot forward notched 147 goals and 282 assists. Cam played 11 seasons in the big leagues before retiring in 2012.

"We are thrilled to have Cam Sedgwick join us in his new role as offensive coordinator. We think he has all the intangibles to be a great coach in this league," says head coach Jimmy Quinlan. "Cam was a highly skilled player in this league who filled a number of different roles for the teams he played for and was always accountable. It was obvious in our discussions that Cam is a very thorough and detailed individual who will bring a great deal to the Saskatchewan Rush."

The Vancouver, BC product switched into the coaching side of lacrosse in 2014 where he was the offensive coach with Burnaby in the Western Lacrosse Association for two seasons. He later moved to Alberta where he has been with the Miners organization for the past four years as an offensive coach. Cam currently resides in Edmonton, AB with his wife and son.
