Callahan Named Assistant General Manager of ValleyCats

TROY, NY- The Tri-City ValleyCats, member of the Short-Season Class A New York-Penn League, have announced that Matt Callahan has been promoted to Assistant General Manager. Previously, Callahan held the position of Business Development Manager with the ValleyCats for two seasons.

"Matt's commitment to our franchise, the ValleyCats brand and the Capital Region has been evident over the past three seasons", said ValleyCats Vice-President/General Manager Rick Murphy.

Callahan said of his recent promotion, "I am extremely excited about this opportunity. Building relationships with our partners and creating fans for life will remain our primary focus as we prepare for our 10th Anniversary Season. We have a very talented staff in place and I look for - ward to continuing our team approach."

Prior to joining the ValleyCats front office, Callahan spent several years in the telecommunications business. He is a graduate of Boston College and resides in Troy, New York.

The ValleyCats are coming off of a season where they captured their first New York-Penn League Championship crown, and also set a new attendance record for the seventh consecutive season.
