Calgary Vipers Sweep Chico

Jumping out to an early lead the Calgary Vipers hung on to defeat the Chico Outlaws 10-6 at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, California. Up 6-0 early the Vipers saw their lead dwindle down to two runs but used a Drew Miller three-run homer in the ninth inning to salt the game away. With the victory the Snakes swept the Outlaws and improved to 13-6 on the second half. Calgary remains in first place in the North Division and are 36-36 overall.

Daniel Morari (1-0) recorded his first professional victory by entering the game in the sixth inning with his team ahead by three runs and the bases loaded with no outs and not allowing a run.

The Vipers now return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Tuesday August 10th at 7:05 PM MDT to host the Tucson Toros. Calgary will play a double-header on Wednesday August 11th at 5:05 PM and wrap up a five-game series with Tucson on Thursday August 12th and Friday August 13th at 7:05 PM MDT. The St. George RoadRunners will visit Calgary for a four game series on Saturday August 14th at 5:05 PM, Sunday August 15th at 12:35 PM MDT, and Monday August 16th and Tuesday August 17th at 7:05 PM MDT.
