Calgary Roughnecks Take Down Saskatchewan Rush 12-10

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Saskatchewan Rush 12-10 on Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, in the first of a home-and-home weekend for the prairie rivals.

Calgary controlled the first quarter with four unanswered goals from Tyler Pace, Tanner Cook, Haiden Dickson and Harrison Matsuoka, whilst Christian Del Bianco made 17 stops in net. The Rush opened the scoring in the second frame and added a second, however Calgary kept a comfortable lead with one more tally from Dickson going into the second half.

The Roughnecks had another four-goal quarter in the third, with contributions from Jesse King, Thomas Hoggarth, Dan Taylor and Pace. The Rush tallied another two heading into the fourth and continued to find the back of the net, scoring six in the final frame. Calgary were able to maintain the lead however, thanks to Josh Currier and Jesse King, and a hattrick goal from Haiden Dickson.

Tanner Cook tallied a career high 8 points in tonight's game (1g, 7a). Jesse King came away with 6 (2g, 4a) whilst Tyler Pace had 5 (2g, 3a). Christian Del Bianco was sensational in the Calgary net, stopping 52 shots.

The Roughnecks are now 7-8 on the season with three games remaining.

The Roughnecks now travel to Saskatoon to meet the Rush at home tomorrow, Saturday April 6th at 7:00pm. Fans can catch the action on TSN+.
