Calgary Roughnecks News Release

Saskatoon, SK - The two-time defending NLL champion Saskatchewan Rush remain undefeated at home, edging the Calgary Roughnecks 12-11 in overtime on Saturday night at SaskTel Centre.

Adam Jones scored the game winner, his second of the contest, just over a minute into the extra session to give the Rush their fourth home victory of the season.

Despite coming up short in extra time, Calgary had the upper hand through nearly three quarters of regulation play after extending a 3-2 opening lead to a 9-8 advantage in the fourth frame.

A trio of fourth-quarter goals from the home club saw Roughnecks sophomore Wesley Berg twice reply for Calgary, first tying the game at 10 apiece with a 5-on-3 power play marker before forcing overtime with a goal late in regulation. Berg finished the night with a team-leading six points (four goals, two assists) to eclipse the 100-point plateau in only his second NLL season.

Tyler Digby (3), Dane Dobbie (2), Garrett McIntosh and Jeff Shattler also found the back of the net for the Roughnecks who have dropped their last four decisions, falling to 3-5 on the season.

Rush forward Mark Matthews led his squad with one goal and six helpers for a seven-point performance. Saskatchewan remains the top seed in the West Division at 6-2.

Christian Del Bianco received the start for the visiting Roughnecks, turning aside 35 of 47 shots he faced in his first full-game effort.

Week 10 of the 2017 NLL campaign sees Calgary play a two-game weekend, beginning on Friday, Mar. 3 at 7:30 p.m., when the Roughnecks travel to Denver for a tilt against the Colorado Mammoth (4-4). Calgary returns to action the following night, Mar. 4, at the new start time of 7:30 p.m. The Saturday night contest will see the league-leading Georgia Swarm (7-1) head to the Scotiabank Saddledome for a Western Party presented by Lammle's Western Wear and Tack.

Roughnecks single game tickets are available at Ticketmaster and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office for as low as $39 for adults, $28 for students and $22 for children (plus applicable fees).
