Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Panther City Lacrosse Club 13-12 Friday night at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, in their final game of the regular season. With their victory tonight, Calgary has set a new franchise record for wins in a single season with 13.

Calgary opened the scoring with a goal from Tanner Cook thirty seconds into the game, however Panther City was able to take the lead answering with two straight. Zach Herreweyers added one to the Roughnecks tally before the home side again answered with two. Dan Taylor closed out the first quarter scoring to leave the Roughnecks down by one. Panther City kept the lead through the second quarter, adding four goals to their total whilst the Roughnecks found the back of the net just twice. Zach Currier added a goal in transition whilst Dan Taylor netted his second of the night to leave the score at 5-8 at halftime.

Calgary out-scored Panther City 4-2 in the third, with goals from Haiden Dickson, Jeff Cornwall and two from Jesse King bringing the Roughnecks within one heading into the final frame. Jesse King netted his hat trick goal and Curtis Manning added one for the Roughnecks to take their first lead of the game 11-10, however it was short-lived with Panther City again tying things up moments later. Goals from Tanner Cook and Haiden Dickson brought Calgary up 13-11, and despite being awarded a penalty shot in the final seconds of the game, the home side was unable to complete a comeback scoring just once more to take the final score to 13-12.

Jesse King finished with 6 points (3g, 3a) tonight, taking him to a career-best 100 points on the season. Josh Currier had 6 assists, whilst Zach Currier scooped 10 loose balls whilst also adding a goal and an assist. Christian Del Bianco made 36 saves, with the Roughnecks outshooting Panther City 53-48.

The Calgary Roughnecks finish their season 13-5, and now head into a bye week for the final week of the NLL regular season play. The team then returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome for the West Quarter Final Playoff game, on Saturday May 6th at 7:30pm.
