Turlock Cal Express News Release
TURLOCK,CA - Matt Germain put the Cal Express on the scoreboard first tonight and also ended it with the game winner goal to defeat Dallas 8-7.
Tonight the Dallas Sidekicks opened up the scoreboard with a goal by Luiz De Andrade on their final home game of the season to take an early lead within the first three minutes of the game.
Down by one, Turlock struggled to get out of their half with the Sidekicks pressuring high but found an open opportunity to counter with Julio Varela finding Matt Germain on the back post who tied the game 1-1.
Freddy Moojen comes on the field a few minutes later for Dallas and scores one of his three in the first half followed by Felipe De Sousa and Luiz de Andrade.
The outpouring goals from the Sidekicks gave them a great start into the third with a 6-2 lead as Adrian Gutierrez net one in the last seconds before the end of the second.
With a rough start in the first 30 minutes, The Cal Express turned things around in the second half by overcoming a 5 goal deficit.
Efforts from Adrian Gutierrez in the starting minute of the third began the much needed momentum for Turlock with an early goal.
Ivan Campos, Anival Echeverria and Luis Brambila all found the back of the net first before Freddy Moojen scored his 4th of the night.
Then only trailing by one, the Cal Express continued to use a 6th attacker and saw Ivan Campos level the game once again.
Dallas then swapped for the 6th attacker to find a last minute opportunity but instead found Matt Germain capitalizing off an assist from Martyn Arista to end the game in favor of Turlock.
The Cal Express will now return home for their last home game of the season against the Ontario Fury.
