The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:
-C P.J. Higgins has been assigned to Double-A Tennessee from Myrtle Beach.
Higgins played in 69 games during his second stint with the Pelicans, batting .289/.381/.401 with 17 doubles, three home runs and 37 RBIs. Over his last seven contests, Higgins was 15-for-29, (.517/.548/.724) with three doubles, two homers and eight RBIs. A native of Wallingford, Conn., Higgins hit .237/.327/.298 with nine doubles, four homers and 23 RBIs with Myrtle Beach in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 12th round of the 2015 draft out of Old Dominion University.
The Pelicans' roster sits at 24 active players, with four players on the disabled list.
