Butler Caps Wild Night with Winning Hit in 13th

Joey Butler knocked in the winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning as the RoughRiders beat San Antonio, 7-6, on Tuesday night.

With two outs and the game tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 13th inning, Butler drove in Renny Osuna with the winning run to propel Frisco to its second consecutive win. Butler extended his hitting streak to 13 games on Tuesday night, going 2-6 with an RBI. Craig Italiano (4-6, 2.23) allowed the winning run and took the loss for San Antonio.

Frisco led 2-0 with two outs in the third inning before San Antonio started its rally. Matt Clark brought home the first run for the visitors with a bases loaded walk against 'Riders starter, Beau Jones. Third baseman James Darnell then connected on the big hit of the night, a three-run double to clear the bases and stake San Antonio to a 4-2 lead.

The 'Riders trailed 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, but designated hitter Emerson Frostad cranked a grand slam against Alexis Lara to give Frisco its first lead of the game at 6-5. Frostad finished 2-5 with four RBI, all coming with the grand slam home run.

Beau Jones (2-0, 3.45) started for Frisco, allowing four runs on three hits over three innings. He walked four and struck out one.

Frisco (65-61) and San Antonio (60-67) will play the middle game of a four-game series on Wednesday night. Richard Bleier (7-10, 5.21) will be on the hill for Frisco, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.
