Busniuk and Longo back with Inferno

COLUMBIA, SC (September 20, 2005) - The Columbia Inferno announce that Bryson Busniuk and John Longo accepted their qualifying offers for the 2005-06 season.

Busniuk, 6'2", 190 lbs. Thunder Bay, Ontario native played 54 games with the Inferno last season, scoring 13 goals and 12 assists. Prior to joining Columbia, he played 11 games with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League and 38 games with the Greensboro Generals, formally in the ECHL. He played his collegiate years with the University of Vermont from 1999 - 2003.

Entering his third season in the ECHL, Longo appeared in 60 games last year with Columbia notching 10 goals and 15 assists. The 5'10", 185 lbs., Trumbull, Connecticut native played ECHL hockey for the Toledo Storm and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies during the 2003-04 season. Longo also played his collegiate years with the University of Vermont along side teammate Busniuk.

"We are excited to have these two returning players to the Inferno lineup," said Head Coach Ted Dent. "In speaking with both of them this summer, each is excited to return to Columbia. Bryson and John both bring different intangibles to the hockey team that can only help us in the process of building a championship team."
