Burlington Family to Drop Puck

The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that for the First 560 CFOS Mercury Wednesday of the season, the Burlington Family will be on hand to take part in a special pre-game ceremonial face-off.

The Burlington Family will be on hand to represent the late Tommy Burlington, who starred for the Owen Sound Mercury's in the 1950's. Tommy played his professional hockey with the Atlantic City Sea Gulls of the AHL. In fact he was the leagues top scorer in 1941-42 with 131 points and was named to 3 AHL All Star teams. Burlington was second in team scoring the year the Mercury's captured the Allan Cup and in 1953/54 he notched 45 goals and 63 assists for 108 points. Tommy Burlington was inducted into the Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame in 1981.

Tommy's wife Winnie, son Jim, along with daughter Anne and son in-law Rob will all be on hand tomorrow evening to take part in the ceremonial face-off.

Game time tomorrow evening against the Plymouth Whalers is 7:00pm.
