February 23, 2005 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
Philadelphia Wings forward Andrew Burkholder was named the NLL's Rookie of the Week for his four-goal game against the Minnesota Swarm on February 20. Burkholder's performance propelled the Wings to a 18-17 win over the Swarm at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.
"Andrew really stepped it up in the second half on Sunday," said Wings Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He hasn't gotten the attention that some of the other rookies have, but I think you'll continue to hear his name more and more."
Burkholder has ten points (7G, 3A) in four games for the Wings this season. The St. Catharine's, ON native was acquired by the Wings in a trade with the Toronto Rock on December 3, 2004.
The Wings return to action against the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, March 5 at the Wachovia Center at 8 p.m.
