Grant, Dietrich and Burkholder Also Honored

Rochester Knighthawks forward John Grant Jr. swept the Offensive and Overall Player of the Week Awards for Week #8. The league scoring leader through Week #8 piled up ten goals and four assists for 14 points in two games played last weekend. In a 14-13 overtime win over Philadelphia on Friday, Grant netted nine goals, just one short of an NLL record shared by Paul and Gary Gait. Grant scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the victory on Friday and also tallied four assists and collected three loose balls. On Saturday Grant scored one goal and tallied two assists for three points and collected five loose balls in an 11-7 home loss to Buffalo. Grant was also named the Offensive Player of the Week in Week #7 and the Overall and Offensive Player of the Week in Week #4.

Buffalo Bandits goaltender Steve Dietrich was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in an 11-7 road victory over the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday. Dietrich totaled 43 saves, allowed seven goals, and collected two loose balls in route to the victory. The award is Dietrich's first Weekly Player Award of the season.

Andrew Burkholder of the Philadelphia Wings was named the Week #8 Rookie of the Week. The rookie forward netted four goals and collected two loose balls in an 18-17 road win over Minnesota on Sunday. Burkholder did not play in the Wings 14-13 overtime home loss to Rochester on Friday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

John Grant Jr. (Rochester) – (2GP, 10G, 4A, 14pts, GWG, 8LB) scored nine goals and added two assists for 11 points including scoring the game-winning goal in overtime and collected three loose balls in a 14-13 overtime win over Philadelphia on Friday. On Saturday, Grant scored one goal and added two assists for three points and collected five loose balls in an 11-7 home loss to Buffalo.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Steve Dietrich (Buffalo) – (43 saves, 7GA, 2LB) recorded 43 saves, allowed seven goals, and collected two loose balls in a 11-7 road win over Rochester on Saturday.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Andrew Burkholder (Philadelphia) – (4G, 2LB) scored four goals and collected two loose balls in a 18-17 road win over Minnesota on Sunday. Burkholder did not play in a 14-13 overtime loss to Rochester at home on Friday.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
