Team Captains announced; ASG MVP to win flat-screen television
February 23, 2005 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) News Release
Colorado Mammoth forward Gary Gait will serve as captain of the West Division All-Stars, with Calgary Roughnecks forward Tracey Kelusky and defenseman Jim Moss serving as alternate captains. On the East Division team, Toronto Rock forward/defenseman Jim Veltman will serve as captain, with Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares and Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Andrew Turner serve as alternate captains. The league also announced the All-Star Game player uniform numbers today (see below).
The Most Valuable Player of the 2005 National Lacrosse League All-Star Team will recieve a flat screen television, courtesy of Future Shop & Toshiba. Fans will be able to vote for the All-Star Game MVP by sending a text message from their wireless phone. Details on how to vote will be announced during Saturday's game broadcast on NBC. The fan vote will determine who wins the MVP Award. All members of the winning team will also recieve DVD players, courtesy of Future Shop & Toshiba.
The 2005 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game takes place at Pengrowth Saddledome on Saturday, February 26th and will air live on NBC at 2pm Eastern.
