
Burgess Earns MVP Honors in All-Star Game

(Rochester, MN) - Carter Burgess (Sam Houston State) led the North Division to a 7-5 victory over the South Division and was named MVP of the 2013 Northwoods League All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 23 in Eau Claire, WI.
Burgess was the only player for the North to collect multiple hits in the game, as he went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and a RBI.
Matt Kent (Texas A&M,) a second-year player for the Honkers, recorded two outs in the second inning of the game, while allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one.
Rochester will return to action on Thursday July 25 at 7:05 p.m. in Willmar. The Honkers will return home to Mayo Field on Saturday July 27 to host the Stingers at 7:05 p.m.
