Durham Bulls News Release
DURHAM, NC - Yohan Flande turned in another strong start for the Braves in a 4-0 victory over the Bulls on Friday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Braves won three of four games in order to tie the Bulls for the South Division lead. The Bulls have been shutout for 19 consecutive innings dating back to the seventh inning on July 27 against Gwinnett.
Jeff Fiorentino delivered all the offense the Braves would need connecting on a fastball from Andy Sonnanstine for a three run home run to centerfield. The homer was the third of the season for Fiorentino, and gave the Braves a 3-0 lead.
Sonnanstine (1-2) was the hard luck loser going eight innings allowing only seven hits and four runs, only three of which were earned. Cesar Ramos worked the ninth inning allowing one hit and one run in his first Triple-A appearance of the season. Stephen Vogt was the only Bull to have multiple hits going 2-4 in his Triple-A debut.
Durham will begin a home and home series with Charlotte on Saturday July 30 at 7:05 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls will send Ryan Reid (1-0) to the mound against the Knights Deunte Heath (2-5). The game can be heard on 620 the Buzz, and tickets are available at www.durhambulls.com.
