Bulls Complete Trade with Windsor Spitfires

The Belleville Bulls and Windsor Spitfires completed a seven player trade on Tuesday. The Bulls have acquired forwards Richard Panik and Austen Brassard, defenceman Paul Bezzo, and goaltender Steve Gleeson from the Spitfires. Belleville also receives Owen Sound's third round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, Owen Sound's second round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and Windsor's seventh round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. In exchange, Belleville sends goaltender Philipp Grubauer, defenceman Marc Cantin, and forward Stephen Johnston to Windsor.
Panik has recorded nine goals and nine assists in 33 games played with the Spitfires this season. He also represented Slovakia at the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship where he led the team in scoring with six goals and eight points in six games played. The Martin, Slovakia native was selected in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Brassard is in his rookie season after being selected by Windsor in the first round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. In 37 games played with the Spitfires this season, Brassard has scored four goals while adding eight assists and 36 penalty minutes.
Bezzo is in his third OHL season and split this year with Windsor and the Owen Sound Attack. The Simcoe, Ontario native has recorded two goals and eight assists along with 101 penalty minutes in 41 games played this season.
Gleeson spent last season with the Spitfires where he recorded a 4-1-0-0 along with a 2.79 GAA and.897 SV%. The Toronto, Ontario native was selected by Windsor in the fourth round of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection.
Grubuauer has posted a 10-14-1-4 record this season along with a 3.14 GAA and.913 SV%. Cantin has scored once while adding seven assists and 63 penalty minutes in 33 games played this season while Johnston has six goals and ten points in 18 games played.
