Green Bay, Wis. - The Bullfrogs four game winning streak was snapped by the Wisconsin Woodchucks tonight as they fell 2-0. The offense was slowed by an impressive performance from Tanner Thomas (Utah) of the Woodchucks. The loss moves the Bullfrogs second half record to 5-5.

The Woodchucks jumped on the Bullfrogs early as they scored the first run of the ballgame on a double by Steve Passatempo (UMass-Lowell) to score Cade Harris (Oklahoma). In the third, Harris drove in the second run of the game with an RBI double to plate Jared Oliva (Arizona). These were the only two runs of entire ballgame for both teams.

Chad Mabini (Western Carolina) got the start for the Bullfrogs and was hooked with the loss. He went six innings and allowed two runs on three hits and struck out six. The bullpen kept the game within reach for the Bullfrogs offense. Dominick Golubewski (Madison College), Matt McCarthy (Penn State), and Peter Castillo (Palm Beach State) all threw one scoreless inning.

The offense was unable to get anything going against Thomas. The Bullfrogs had their first threat to score in the third when they had Matt Hoeg (Iowa Western CC) on third with less than two outs. Hoeg and Josh Hollander (Kent State) were stranded on the bases. Thomas would then proceed to set down 13 straight Bullfrogs before he issued a walk to Jonah Davis (UC-Berkeley) in the sixth.

The Bullfrogs didn ' t give in as they attempted to mount a rally in the ninth. With two outs, Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) earned a walk and Quincy Nieporte (Florida State) recorded a single. Davis, representing the winning run, stepped to the plate. After a tough battle, Davis was called out on strikes to end the ballgame.

Tanner Thomas finished the game going eight scoreless innings. He gave up three hits and struck out five batters. Matt Hoeg finished with two hits on the day.

The Battle Creek Bombers come into town as the Bullfrogs will begin a two game series starting tomorrow. First pitch scheduled for 6:35 pm.
