Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - Coming off a scheduled off-day, the Bullfrogs travel to the north to face the Duluth Huskies. This will be the last meeting between the two teams as they finish their four game season series. Currently, both teams have earned victories as the two teams played each other last week at Joannes Stadium. The Bullfrogs enter on a two game winning streak after sweeping the south division leaders Rockford Rivets. Sitting one game back, the Bullfrogs are 9-7 in the second half.
Behind two strong starts from their starting pitchers, the Bullfrogs cruised to two victories against the Rivets. Harrisen Elgy (Columbia) threw five and two-third innings of shutout baseball while striking out six and allowing just two hits in game one. The second game was much the same, as Matt Ellenbest (Morehead State) earned his fourth victory in a row. The Bullfrogs hit three home runs on the day. Quincy Nieporte (Florida State) and Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) both had a two run shot while Jonah Davis (UC-Berkeley) hit a grand slam.
Tonight, Connor Hock (Notre Dame) will make his first start in a Bullfrogs uniform. In his only appearance of the season, Hock went four and two-third innings against the Battle Creek Bombers. He allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four batters.
The Bullfrogs are currently one game back from divisional leaders, Rockford Rivets and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Rockford plays the Woodchucks and the Rafters face the Battle Creek Bombers today. The Bullfrogs have already completed their season series against the Rafters but plays the Rivets four more times this season.
First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:35 pm from Wade Stadium.
